I was rewatching the Mulan films to get that childhood nostalgia, and I remembered how much I love Mushu...

So I thought "what would the cast of TADC x reader be like, who is practically a copy of Mushu's personality", I imagine that in appearance he would be a Chinese dragon humanoid but with his personality

im finally back on my computer, woohoo! ill probably answer a few requests, since i wanna draw stuff today </3 i dont really like leaving my wips unfinished for more than a few days TToTT side note i gotta rewatch mulan, used to be one of my favorite movies as a kid (though i barely watched movies back then so uh uh its not like there were many contenders </3) relying on the good ol character wiki to help me through this because its been so long since ive watched the movie

CAINE:

i think caine would actually really enjoy you, a lot! in a weird way caine gives off similar energy, with the confidence and such you know? so you two probably bounce right off each other and build one another up... though sometimes this leads to more insane IHAs because you insist to caine that youre more capable than you actually are... as mean as that sounds... the only reason that things dont get too too chaotic is because caine, in my opinion, does hold some significant level of care for the circus members (at least as it stands for the pilot)

like would he die for them? probably not.. but he cares enough to keep the circus (mostly) safe and bothers with keeping them mentally stimulated and entertained; he doesnt even watch the IHAs himself so its likely that its not for his own entertainment

honestly i struggle a lot with writing pomni, but i think the two of you would be friendly with one another ! i think she might be a little taken aback by your confidence, but hey, its not like its to anyones detriment, right? well... IHAs can get interesting, with you either insisting to run in, leroy jenkins style, into the conflict; or trying to push someone else to do (oftentimes ragatha, who i feel would be the most likely to do the most in IHAs if theres nothing pulling her away from it (cough cough checking on kaufmo cough cough)

honestly my brains a little fuzzy trying to remember mulan, but i feel like you and pomni would have a similar dynamic to mulan and mushu as well

JAX:

i think jax would try to push you more than he does the others since oftentimes your reactions are more... out there, youre so desperate to prove yourself as this big strong individual that you kind of make an ass out of yourself. and jax revels in your humiliation everytime someone manages to humble you.. in terms of the other stuff, i think he would tease and make fun of any abilities you have.. assuming you also have (some) fire abilities like mushu, jax would just call you names like "matchstick" and "lighter boy", making fun of your weak fire powers

RAGATHA:

as mentioned in pomnis part, you and ragatha have... an interesting dynamic... but i can also see you two having a similar dynamic to mushu and cri-kee . with you being bold and ragatha keeping you grounded. often you two end up together during IHAs with either ragatha seeking you out or someone pushing you to her

not much to be said, i think ! very similar dynamic, ragatha keeps you in check, though i think she would occasionally scold you if you did something particularly reckless

KINGER:

ooo this ones a hard one, but i think it would be similar to my personal take on what his and caines dynamic would be but with you as a fellow circus member rather than the ring master... has respect for you (though i think kinger would have respect for just about everyone who has come and gone to the circus, he doesnt strike me as the type to just diss others unless theres a reason he doesnt like the person... and even then he would mind his own business, i think) which... honestly, i can see this either making your ego more intense or actually mean something to have someone actually respect you.. ponders... character degradation(?) or character growth.. both are fun routes, i think! ill leave this one up to you...

ZOOBLE:

writing zoobles part first because i think that they may be the hardest, but in the kindest way possible i dont think they would be able to stand your personality... maybe youre a little loud and out there, or maybe they just dont like your humor or often times self centered nature... i think they would tolerate you just enough to get through IHA but forming a friendship with zooble is going to be tough... though, they do find it amusing when you and jax butt heads

GANGLE:

very similar to pomnis part, i think... but like, gangle is shy whereas pomni is nervous so things are a little different... i think gangle would just along with most stuff you decide to do, that you rope her into, because she doesnt have a backbone to say no or suggest something else.. well she doesnt have bones in general but... you know? honestly she kind of envies you in a weird way, she wishes she had the confidence you have so sometimes she probably approaches you for advice.. how this ends up is up to you !

The Disney Heroes Franchise: Slight Revision and Meet the Heroes (Part 1)

As I'm sure many of know, I made a post a little over a year ago about my idea on how I would revival the forgotten Disney franchise, Disney Heroes.

To this day, it's undoubtedly my biggest and most popular post.

If you want to check it out for yourselves.

At the end of that post, I promised to go more in-depth on my idea.

But for a long time, I've had trouble trying to continue the idea.

Largely thanks to stuff like focusing on my writing, college, etc.

But now since I'm free for the summer, I'm in a franchise mood.

So I'm back to continue my idea!

To start this off, I wanted to mention that although my original concept and idea for the franchise still stands, there is one change I decided to make.

And that's to the roster.

Essentially, the roster now is both bigger and smaller.

Basically, similar to other franchises, Disney Heroes will have Waves, with each one introducing new characters and locations to its brand.

Essentially, these next few posts about Disney Heroes will be focused on the hypothetical First Wave.

As for the movies that would be represented in the first wave, this would include all the films that were represented in the original franchise.

Those films being:

-Hercules

-Aladdin

-Peter Pan

-Tarzan

-The Sword in the Stone

-Robin Hood

-Sleeping Beauty

-Mulan

-Atlantis: The Lost Empire

As for our roster of heroes specifically, we have Merlin, Li Shang, Fa Mulan, Mushu, Yao, Ling and Chien Po, Hercules, Megara, Philoctetes, Pegasus, Aladdin, Jasmine, Abu, Iago, Magic Carpet, Genie, Tarzan, Jane Porter, Professor Porter, Terk, Tantor, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, Wendy, Michael and John Darling, The Lost Boys, Arthur, Archimedes, Robin Hood, Little John, Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, Princess Aurora, Prince Phillip, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather, Milo Thatch, Kida Nedakh, Dr. Sweet, Vinny, Audrey, Moliere, Cookie and Ms. Packard.

As I mentioned in my initial post, they were all brought together by Merlin after he found out about their respective villains deciding to team up together to further their goals. So now it’s up to the Disney Heroes to thwart their the villains’ plans and protect their respective realms.

Their headquarters is in Merlin, Arthur and Archimedes’ home-realm of Camelot, specifically in their castle they acquired at the end of their film.

But now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about the actual heroes themselves, starting off with....

Merlin:

The founder of the Disney Heroes, the ever-wise powerful wizard of Camelot, and frequent time traveler.

Merlin is basically the guy in the chair, similar to Oracle and Professor Xavier (though not literally as those two).

He’s the one who sends our heroes on their missions and keeps in touch with them while on said mission to inform them what they’re up against.

But despite that, Merlin is one of the most powerful members of the team, being a master sorcerer.

As for his outfit, it would look like this...

Archimedes:

You can't have Merlin around without his trusty owl!

He's usually hangs with Merlin and helps out with keeping in touch with the heroes.

And by keeping in touch, I mean he'll usually be throwing shade at them, much to Merlin's dismay.

As for his looks, he pretty much looks exactly the same as he usually does.

Li Shang:

Next we come to leader of the Disney Heroes since let's be real, out of this group, Shang is undoubtedly the most qualified to lead.

He's a skilled strategist and tactician, skilled in various martial arts, and fights with a gun (a type of staff used in ancient China) and a bow and arrows.

As for his outfit, Shang would wearing the exact same thing he had from the D23 Folktale Figurines Series, but with the addition of his father's helmet.

Hercules:

Next we come to one of the four heroes that start off the original franchise.

Hercules is the muscle of the team, thanks to his god-like strength.

In addition to being skilled in hand-to-hand combat and wrestling, he also fights with the Lightning Sword and Lion Shield.

Both of which were forged by Hephaestus, the former is a sword with a lightning bolt-shaped blade that can emit powerful electricity, and the latter is a golden shield with the face of a lion.

As for his looks, Hercules would be wearing the same outfit from the short-lived revamp during the original franchise's run.

Pegasus:

And what's a demi-god without his trusty flying steed?

Pegasus is able to fly at incredible speeds, allowing his rider to get to their desired location in the nick of time.

He's also decently strong, since he is, ya know, a horse.

As for his looks, they would be pulled from his Lorcana card.

Aladdin:

Here we have another member of the original four!

Aladdin is essentially one of the speed fighters of the team, thanks to his impressive speed and agility.

Plus the fact that he’s incredibly stealthy doesn’t hurt either.

In addition to that, Aladdin is also a skilled swordsman, fighting with a huge magical scimitar that given to him by Genie that can cut through just about anything.

He also carries a dagger with him for back-up just in case he can’t use his scimitar at the moment.

As for his looks, Aladdin would be wearing the same outfit he was suppose to wear for for the short-lived revamp.

Abu:

And what’s a street rat without his trusty monkey.

Abu essentially wears the same type of fez, vest and waist cloth like Aladdin, with the first two having the same color scheme as his usual outfit.

As you expect from a monkey, he’s incredibly quick, agile and nimble.

But that’s not all, because just like his buddy, Abu’s got…

Peter Pan:

We've come to the third member of the original four.

Peter is another one of the team's speed fighters, thanks to his ability of flight.

He also carries a variety of weapons on him, including a bow and arrows, a tomahawk, and of course, his trusty dagger.

Peter also utilizes his living shadow in battle, which he'll have as a tag-team of sorts.

As for his looks, Peter would be wearing the same outfit from the short-lived revamp as well.

Tinker Bell:

And you can't have Peter Pan without his trusty fairy companion.

Tinker Bell is the pure definition of small but mighty.

In spite of how small she is, she's strong enough to pick up a full grown human and throw them.

But in addition to her power of flight and producing pixie dust, Tinker Bell's true power lies in her mind.

Being carried over from her solo films, she's a tinkerer, creating a variety of weapons and gadgets to help her in battle.

Her most prominent weapon is a crossbow that she shoots stuff like nails and thorns with.

As for her looks, they'll be pulled from this Lorcana card.

Tarzan:

We've finally come to the final member of the original four!

Tarzan is one of the most well-rounded members of the team.

He possesses above-average strength, speed, agility and endurance.

Tarzan also utilizes a variety of weapons, including his bare hands, a spear, a knife, a bow and arrow, and even a vine lasso.

As for his looks, Tarzan would be wearing the same outfit he was suppose to wear for for the short-lived revamp.

Arthur:

Coming to The Sword in the Stone characters, we've arrived to the main protagonist of that film and one of the main heroes to start off the second wave of the original franchise.

Arthur may be one of the newbies of the team (since he's one of the youngest members), but he's notslouch in combat.

Thanks to some training from his foster father Sir Ector and the some of the other Heroes, Arthur has become a decently skilled swordman, wielding the legendary sword of Excalibur alongside a trusty shield in battle.

As for his looks, they would be pulled from this Lorcana card.

Robin Hood:

Here we have another main hero of the original second wave.

Robin Hood specializes in attacking enemies from afar with his trusty longbow and arrows.

But can also get close and personal with his sword.

As for his looks, Robin would be wearing the same outfit from the Folktale Figurines Series as well.

Prince Phillip:

Now we've come to the final member of the second wave.

Prince Phillip is one of best close-range fighters, being a skilled swordman and all.

In battle, he utilizes the enchanted Shield of Virtue (which can block and deflect just about any kind of magical attack) and Sword of Truth (which can slice through just about anything).

As for his looks, Phillip would be wearing the same outfit from the short-lived revamp as well.

Milo Thatch:

Here we have the final member to be introduced to the original franchise.

Milo is a perfect mix-between a ranged and physical fighter.

He'll fight from afar with a pair of mystical Atlantean boomerangs (with one being able to emit fire, while the other emits ice), but he'll also fight up-close with an Atlantean spear.

As for his looks, they would be pulled from this Lorcana card.

Well that's all for now.

I know some of you are wondering why I didn't cover everybody else.

Well I figured since there are so many members, it would be better to split this into parts so it doesn't become too long.

But for the heroes I did cover, you're probably wondering why I didn't got into their characters. Well that's because they're pretty much the same as they were in their respective films, so there isn't really a whole lot to go over in that department.

But I am planning on doing a post where I discuss some of the relationships among the team.

As soon as the video starts playing, the viewer can see the host on screen. It wasn’t long before you said in the video, “On today's episode of Celebrity Thirsty Tweets, we have Gym Leaders, Elite Four, a Champion, and a Professor! Sit back, relax and enjoy the video!” The screen fades to black with a rendition of ABC by Jackson 5 playing. Soon the first person and their corresponding tweet is on screen.

I want to give him the most astonishing, atrocious, shameless, violent, rude, disrespectful, toe curling, sheet gripping head he's ever had. @GalarChampionLeon

It takes Leon a full minute of opening and closing his mouth before he could form a response. His cheeks turned a scarlet red. "I- I. Well that's certainly something. More power to you if you can accomplish that to someone." He looks down as he runs a hand through his hair. He chuckles, before he looks up at the camera, "Some of these fans are real imaginative."

As soon as Larry finish reading out the tweet, he lets out a deep sigh and shakes his head. "I am flour because I am bland? I will give you that. At this point, being a stressed and depressed adult will do that to someone." He pauses for a moment to think. "If you're into all purpose flour, guess I'm the guy for you."

Rika smirks as she finishes reading the tweet. "Awe does someone want to be my pet? Does someone need to go on some walkies?" She lets out a hearty laugh, shaking her head. She leans back in her chair and rest her arm on her knee. "Sounds like a many of you need a badass domme in your life."

Brassius leans back into his chair, smirking at the camera. He takes a few moments before he says anything. "You want me to breed you darlin? Is that really what you want?" He asks, leaning forward, "Have you been good? Only good darlins get to be bred."

@ProfessorSycamore is so hot. I wanna climb him like an Arceus damn jungle gym.

Sycamore's face heats up instantly. "That doesn't sound very safe, now does it?" He asks, "Although, I don't think you care about your safety from your tweet. Which is very important! Being safe in all situations is important! Even in kinky situations." He rubs his cheeks a little bit as he attempts to hid the fact that his face is going a tomato red.

His eyes go wide and he smacks a hand over his mouth at the realization of what he just said implies in context to the tweet. Your laughter could be heard from behind the camera.

@EliteFourRika could step on me multiple times, spit on me, and call me worthless and I WILL THANK HER.

Rika moves the mike closer to her mouth, leans forward, and stares straight into the camera, before she starts speaking. "So you would thank me? That's it? What else would I hear darlin? Would I hear you begging me for those things?" She asks, her voice deeper than normal. She chuckles, "Y'all are really going feral, aren't ya?"

Anyone think that @Truleewoodo needs a nude model? Think he'll model nude for a class?

Brassius starts shaking his head and tisking at the camera. " There will be no classes that I will model for. There will also never be any media of myself nude that will be made public." He leans back and scratches his head, before he continues. "BUT the only exception to that would be a private session where I would allow my significant other to artistically capture my nude self in their preferred form of media. This would be for their consumption and their consumption alone.

I just want him to cook me a meal and tell me I was a good boy. Is that too much to ask? @Arven&Mabostiff

Arven looked at the camera with a shocked look, taking a moment to collect his thoughts. "I- I. No that's not to much to ask! Quite honestly, I would love to cook for someone, other than myself, mabostiff and my other Pokémon." He said as he got a bit of a distant look.

Random Things I Found Fun/Interesting in JPN Kingdom Hearts (AKA I think about these things WAY too much) (Part 1?)

Master of Master’s way of speaking in general! I mentioned this in the tags of another post but mans just says things in different ways. My current fave example is him saying ‘yoroshiku’ (if i had to describe/translate this, it’s pretty much “thank you in advance” (usually said as “yoroshiku onegaishimasu”)) as ‘yoropiku’, ‘yoroshiu’, ‘yorokushi’ (yoropiku esp, from what I’ve researched is considered a cute way of saying yoroshiku)

Also the way he refers to the foretellers (nicknames and saying “you”)! There’s been other posts that have talked about it but I need to let this out too! He refers to Ira and Aced as Iracchi and Acedon respectively. High key, he’s doing it to make fun of how serious (and aggressive in Aced’s case) they are. 

When it comes to Invi and Luxu, he says “kimi” (usually a more casual/usually boyish way of saying “you” (Sora usually uses this)).

For Ava and Gula, he uses “omae” (very casual/can be considered rude in many cases way of saying “you”, Riku uses this often and so does Sora at times). I’m assuming it’s because Ava and Gula are the youngest that MoM refers to them as such.

In Re:Coded, while in Wonderland, there are about 3 or so occasions where Data Sora and Alice say “nya” at the end of their sentences. No, this is not explained nor does any character make a comment about it. 

More of a meta example than in-game, but from what I’ve seen, a lot of the JPN community shortens MoM to “Masu Masu” and that just sounds cute (on brand with him too lol). To be fair, a lot of terms and names are shortened beyond KH.

In that scene where Mickey and Riku talk about Aqua in KH3 and Riku freaks out over being told that Aqua is just like Sora, the delivery of his “EEEEEEHHHHHHH?!?!?!?!” is just so funny and on point (we love Mamoru Miyano in this household)

In general, hearing the differences Miyu Irino makes for voicing Sora and Vanitas. If you listen to both of their battle voice lines, they both say “IKE” (ee-keh) (meaning something akin to “Go!”) and it is a HUGE difference. Sora is higher pitched and kinda cute, as Irino tends to do with him while Vanitas is lower pitched and very aggressive (kind of growling to an extent)

SORA CAN COUNT. The cutscene where Donald says “’cause Sora can’t count” in ENG is really different in JPN. In JPN, Donald says “[It’s because] Sora’s inconsiderate/insensitive.” My guess is that it wouldn’t be as funny than something like “Sora can’t count” considering that SDG laugh over it after. (Really, Kid Icarus: Uprising did something similar with Pit too)

Koichi Yamadera, Donald’s JPN VA, also voices Beast, Mushu, Genie, Stitch, among many, many characters in KH alone.

For the line “So he told you how he felt” that DiZ says to Riku about Roxas, in JPN he says “Did he tell [you] that he hates Sora?” Which just hits me pretty hard lol

In ENG, they pronounce Lea’s name as “Lee” but in JPN, it is said as “Lee-ah”

Today's random thought is about mulan.

I think the Huns/hans? Are better people then the men from china.

Let me explain!

They aren't sexist at all. They saw a village and killed everyone leaving no survivors. Shan Yu saw Mulan was a woman and wasn't like "A woman defeated me?" Nah he was like "The SOLDIER from the mountains" he saw Mulan as an equal regardless of her gender.

In the og story when mulan was discovered she became the emperors concubine and committed suicide.

In the disney version she would have been killed by shang if she didn't save his life.

Also shout out to Ling, Yao, and Chin Po. They saw her fight and we're like nah that's our equal we all would have died without her brain power bro.

Also Shang should have been gay, let's be honest.

Anyway, I feel like Mulan's father was the goat because you know he taught her how to ride a horse and he probably would have thrown hands with any man who dared to mistreat his daughter. He knew his daughter was a tomboy and encouraged it for years. You also know he adored his wife as his equal rather than as someone who should give him sons.

The Huns mostly likely treated women the same way. I don't get how the only way a woman can bring honor to her family is by giving birth to sons. Like come on. "We need more people for the war but oh no not women" what type of sense does that make?

I've recently discovered that some people ship Mulan and Shan Yu at first I didn't get it but then I actually thought about how he would at least look at Mulan as a equal rather than an enemy.

Also disney never gave the reason why The Huns had beef with the emperor.

Now onto the 2 mulan movie. The emperor was ready to give all his daughters to a man he himself never met. That's like sending your children to a harem or pimping them out to strangers.

Shang out right pissed me off in the 2nd Mulan movie. Like I get it Mushu was wrong for trying to split them up but I feel like he was revealing how their relationship was always rocky. Shang didn't even bother to really listen to Mulan or ask her opinion on what she wanted.

Like when the villagers were asking questions they were literally opposites. How do you expect Mulan to give you as many children as possible did you not catch on in the time you guys have been dating that Mulan loves her independence and that she didn't want to be the one stuck at home with the children while you did whatever?

When Shang was thought to have been dead I was excited I was like yes now Mulan to live out her life as a Kung Fu master who trains girls to be their own person. Then the whole I'll marry the prince in the princesses place thing happened and I gagged.

Love should never be treated as a 1 way street or a way to control or to make ends meet. You either see each others as equals, think of each others feelings, ask what the other wants out of life and see if it has conflicting interests, actually communicate your problems rather then being quick to start a fight or dismiss the other.

Perhaps the easiest way to determine the best Disney quote would be to ask:

Alas, we have yet to stumble across such a gifted mirror in our life... (but if you have one: reach out, maybe we could make a deal???) Besides, democracy is a great second choice to magical omnipotence!

This tournament consists of a collection of 128 Quotes, be them solo sayings or exchanges, going all the way back to the very first Animated Feature Film, and every decade there after.

However, with so many words, we are going to wait to construct a pictural bracket for you all. You'll just have to be surprised which quotes go up against each other this first round!

We did create 'cards' of a sort with each Quote on them. And while they are exquisite (omg thanks!), we ask you vote on the content of the words and not our artistic choices.

The first group of polls will be out on December 8th! And another about every 3 days afterwards. *

Below we gave you the organization approach and fine print, for those interested:

We have divided all into two Groups of 64. All quotes from the same movie/show/place are in the same group. This prevents two, say, Mushu (Mulan) Quotes from being the finalists, but they could be up against each other as semi- or quarter-finalists. The bracket building also included an attempt at seeding, where those which had more submissions/propaganda were ranked higher. Thus the idea is number 1 of each half goes against their number 64 and so on, meeting at 32 and 33.** We only want to release 8 polls a day. This means 8 total groups for the first round. Each poll will be 1 week long (as usual) so this round might feel LOOOONG even with the staggered releases. He also has a dragon travelling companion (the dragon is like similar to the dragons in botw/totk, big flying danger noodles) the dragon grants Realm the power to open portals from realm to realm, era to era, or the past, present, and future of that certain realm. Also that dragon companion is this Link's mother, the whole time his mother has been with him the whole adventure, they even fought Ganon together along with Zelda :'(  (I mean Realm did all the work tanking Ganon all the dragon did is fight off a whole army of monsters while saving civilians) (but does the chain know that? No) (Realm gets really stingy when someone makes unwelcomed comments to the dragon, or when they ride on the dragon and one of the chain accidentally does something that causes the dragons scales/mane to be stained/dirty) (yes I'm so unoriginal but shush) (the dragon also sings, it sings lullabies like zeldas lullaby, lost woods, ballad of the wind fish, etc... TAD:

The battle of Minas Tirith was finally over. Tad had just barely managed to save Arthur, son of the Steward of Gondor, and now that he had, he couldn’t help but hope that the worst of it all was over. Sure, he knew that Finn was still out there somewhere moving closer and closer to Mordor. But Tad sort of figured his part in all of this was over. 

After all, what use is a hobbit who’s never really seen much combat in all this. Right? Right. He was sure that he wouldn’t be needed at all.

At least until he was pulled into a meeting that included the beautiful elf Judy, his best buddy Mushu, and Shang who had honestly helped lead the Fellowship as far as it could go. And then of course there was the wizard Roxas, who always took things so seriously. It was because of Roxas that Arthur was still alive. Tad was grateful for that. Even if he didn’t quite want Roxas’ eyes on him at that moment. He sat down next to Mushu, leaning over to ask, “hey, so what-” “Shhh Tad. It’s about to start,” Mushu muttered, nudging him lightly to try to get a little bit of space between them.

“But-”

ROXAS: 

“If you would all settle down,” he eyed the two hobbits who always seemed to be somewhat in their own little world. “We need to discuss what our next move should be.” The man started to pace, hands clasped behind his back. “Finn has passed beyond my sight now. The darkness is deepening.”

There was a graveness to his voice, but Roxas could not keep this part light. They all needed to face the unlikeliness of it all. He knew… he had always known that the plan was a bit of a fool’s hope. But it was the best hope that they had been able to muster up. 

The enemy would never have suspected them to place such a mighty thing in the hand’s of a hobbit. And now here they were, and Roxas was starting to believe that he had sent the poor hobbit to his doom. If Finn failed in his task… had he already failed? 

SHANG: 

“If Anthony had the ring, we would know it,” Shang pointed out, stepping forward to try to settle the wizard, if only to stop his pacing which was starting to fray on his own nerves, and no doubt the nerves of the hobbits too, who were watching them all with wide eyes and barely concealed fear. Not that Shang blamed them. They weren’t suited to this place or the times they were in.

Yet their stout hearts had led them to be the vassals of a King of Rohan and a Steward of Gondor. 

“If he had it he would not hesitate to cover the whole world in darkness once again. We would all be dead or near it.” It was a fact. He was certain that there could be no doubt about the possession of the ring if it returned to its master. 

ROXAS: 

“He suffered a defeat, yes. That much is clear.” It was a hard earned victory, with many men of the Rohirrim and of Gondor dead, including the King of Rohan. And then the new King Lucky was distracted, understandably, by his sister’s state in the healing wing after having fought in the battle where she wasn’t supposed to be. 

Yet without her, the Witch King would never have been defeated. 

They had been victorious…but they had lost many. And yet… “But behind the walls of Mordor our enemy is regrouping.” Mordor could afford to do so. Orcs were easy to continue to create and create like an endless tide of evil. Human, elf, dwarf and hobbit lives were not so simple. 

“Let him stay there and rot! Why should we care? That guy may as well rot in his own gross orc filth,” The hobbit Mushu insisted. Roxas barely resisted rolling his eyes. Instead he directed his gaze on the other full force, briefly relishing the way the other’s shoulder shrunk in on themselves. He forced his irritation down.

“Because 10,000 orcs now stand between Finn and Mount Doom.” He paced a step or two and then stopped, the realization of it all hitting him, the weight of what he had done hitting him. “I’ve sent him to his death,” he added, his face almost crumpling to the grief of it before he forced himself to be steady. It was not the time. He could not let it be the time to grieve for the hobbit.

SHANG: 

Shang stepped forward and put a hand on the wizard’s shoulder. “No. There’s still time. He needs time and safe passage across the plains. We can give him that,” Shang pointed out, the dawning of an idea starting to take shape in his head. Reckless? Yes. Bold? Beyond that. But would it give Finn a chance to accomplish what he needed to accomplish? He thought that it could. 

They might not have the army that would survive another full onslaught. But they had enough of an army that they could keep the enemy distracted just long enough. Just long enough that hopefully Finn would be able to make it to the top of the volcano and throw the ring in.

“Are you crazy? How are you going to do that?” Mushu piped in again. He seemed at least to be trying to follow along. The other hobbit Tad looked like his eyes had sort of glazed over again at the thought of another battle. 

“We. Mushu, we will draw out his armies. Make him empty his lands. And then we’ll gather our armies and march on the black gate.”

—

FINN:

Meanwhile, Nemo had just rescued Finn from Cirith Ungol, and the two of them had slowly found their way back down and started down the hill to really get into Mordor. The ring was heavy now, heavier than if Finn were to be clad in two sets of armor at least, and he wished (not for the first time) that this burden hadn’t fallen to him. He was no one extraordinary, but he had made a promise to try and bring the ring to Mordor, and despite everything that had come between him and his goal… he was close. 

And Nemo had stayed by his side at his worst moments. 

Finn turned to Nemo then, not daring to go further without saying it. Without expressing some of what he was feeling. “I’m so… I’m so-so-so sorry Nemo. I’m so sorry for everything. That I… that I let my-my-myself believe you could ever-” Nemo stepped forward and squeezed his hand, and some of the anxious feeling that had started bubbling up settled back down again. Nemo did always seem to have a way of putting him at ease. Even before they had ever left the Shire. 

“Don’t worry about that now Finny,” Nemo replied softly, glancing out in the direction they still needed to go. “For now we probably need to put on some of that ugly orc armor. Disguise ourselves so we can head straight for the mountain. You ready?” Finn wanted to say no. He wanted to sit there and rest and forget about the weight of the ring and their fates and what they had to do. But Nemo looked at him with that warmth, and he smiled, and he knew that even though every fiber of his being was exhausted, he would keep going and keep fighting for his friend. 

Finn nodded and got to his feet. Together they stepped forward and took the armor from two dead orcs of Cirith Ungol. Nemo helped Finn when he felt unsteady on his feet just from the effort of it. And then he and Nemo started marching down the hill and onto the plains of Mordor, the stretch of plains leading right for the looming mountain that they had pinned all their fate on. “There are so many orcs that way still…” Finn pointed out nervously, the two of them walking as close together as they could. How would they find a way past all of them?

MUSHU:

So now Mushu was riding behind Lady Phoebe (who had barely recovered) and he could glance to his side and see Tad gripping onto Lady Judy as their mounts steadily carried them away from the sturdy walls of Minas Tirith. Mushu glanced back at it, a big towering city that he had barely spent much time in at all. And now his doom would be decided far away from it, far away from the Shire that he had grown up loving. 

They were marching to another battle. Only this time it seemed even more hopeless than the last. A part of him wanted to jump off and run himself right back to the Shire. To greener pastures and to a place that seemed untouched by war or darkness. He didn’t care about being noble. 

And maybe he would, but Tad was right alongside with him, and Finn was out there somewhere doing what no man or elf or dwarf or wizard had the strength or willpower to do. Mushu shoved down the urge he had as their army came to a stop before the looming black gates. And suddenly, slowly the gates started to open, and Mushu could see a glimpse of the army of orcs that were stomping their way to meet them. It was too late now. He was in for the last great battle of the age.

He hoped he wouldn’t embarrass himself before the end. 

PEPPER: 

Phoebe guided the horse she shared with Mushu to one side, glancing back to see if her companion was okay. “Courage now Mushu. We’ve already faced the nightmare,” she pointed out, harkening back to their horrible battle with the Witch King. After that…what was the rest but an army of orcs? 

Insurmountable odds, but she still felt stronger about it than she had when she had stabbed the Witch King. Despite her body still healing from it, she refused to be left behind when her brother and her people all went to face the final stand. The final moment that would decide the world’s fate. 

She sucked in a shaky breath and gripped her reins a little tighter as the black gates continued to open. These ugly orcs were not going to take her down, or her hobbit friend. They had survived the Witch King… they would also survive this battle. She would make sure of it.

SHANG: 

Shang nudged his horse forward and then into a canter, riding in front of all the troops to gain their attention and to encourage them for the battle ahead. “Keep steady everyone. Fear no darkness. Find your center and you will win. We will defeat this evil.”

He drew his sword, and many of the soldiers in the army then drew theirs as well. “Today is a day that we fight for friends. We fight for valar. We fight for ourselves and for the hope this will change enough to make a difference. Stand and fight! Fight for everything you hold dear!” 

The soldiers came marching forward and Shang had his horse lunge forward at the army, Lady Phoebe and Lady Judy not far behind, Roxas the wizard right alongside him. With them the rest of their army followed straight into the battle…

FINN: 

Finn and Nemo had been walking for what felt like hours, days. He found himself slumping to the ground, Nemo dropping down with him quickly and offering him sorely needed water. They didn’t have much of it left, but of course all Nemo could do was share it with him. Finn was so lucky to have him as a friend. He was just lucky to have him in general. 

He gulped down the few bits of water, shivering as he tried to guage just how much further they had to go. Would they even be able to with all the orcs? 

“Look Finny…the orcs are leaving! Some luck for us finally.” Finn lifted his head and startled. Nemo was right? They were all marching away, clearing out the plains for them to cross and get to the mountain. Maybe there was still hope for them. It encouraged Finn, it finally boosted him enough to get up and start off toward the mountain again, Nemo right along with him. 

He kept going until they started to climb up the side of the mountain and his legs finally gave back out on him. And the ring continued to get heavier, now at its worst with their close proximity to the mountain. “Let’s…we-we-we should get rid of the…of the armor now,” he suggested after a few minutes. They didn’t need it for the climb. They didn’t need much of anything else except each other now. He and Nemo quickly tossed their armor and what equipment they didn’t need off the side of the mountain. 

“That’s better,” Finn said, though he still felt just as heavy. It still might help give the final push that he needed. That they needed to get to the top of the mountain.

JUDY: 

The battle had started in earnest, and it became impossible for Judy to spot Shang like she wanted. The elf had her bow and she was firing at orc after orc after orc. Tad was close to her, swinging his little dagger and stabbing those that she didn’t quite get with her bow. There was already a pile of orc corpses and yet still more kept coming. 

“Fight with me Tad. Back to back. Let’s make them all regret coming against us today.” Tad guarded her back and she guarded his, and between them they had managed to take down a section of orcs at least, though the flow of them didn’t seem to pause much. 

Not until the trolls came in.

Three massive trolls that came in hard swinging. Judy ducked to one side and lost sight of little Tad. But she did spot Shang then, and all thought to make sure Tad was alright was pushed back as she ran to help the man she loved. 

“Shang!” She shouted, elbowing past someone else and firing at the troll’s neck. The troll roared and turned its attention toward the one who had caused it pain now: Judy. But that was good. That allowed Shang to get back to his feet and stab at the troll. Judy was able to get another shot in and take the troll down. One troll down. Several to go.

FINN:

Finn, with the help of Nemo, managed to make it up nearly to the top of the mountain. And, as luck would have it there happened to be a doorway that led right into the volcano. After everything they had been through up until that point, Finn was so grateful he blindly stumbled forward. Nothing else mattered now. Nothing but the weight of the ring, and this burden that he was so close to being free of. 

Of course in that moment, as he started past a boulder and toward the walkway that led to the large arch, two things happened almost simultaneously. He heard “clever little maggots climbing all the way up here!” and then Gollette tackled him and knocked him to the ground, trying to choke the life out of him. 

Finn struggled and tried to fight her off, but he didn’t have anything to really fight her off with, and he wasn’t as strong as he had been when they had first faced Gollette before. And just when he thought he was going to lose again, Nemo came and pushed Gollette off of him. “Run Finny!” 

Finn hesitated. He didn’t want to leave Nemo behind. But he also didn’t want to give Gollette the chance to take the ring and ruin everything. He ran through the doorway and into the volcano, making his way toward the edge where he would be able to drop it into the volcano.

TINK/GOLLETTE: 

Well these hobbitses couldn’t very well destroy everything precious to her now could they? Tink…or Gollette had spent so much time trying to get rid of these ridiculous hobbitses so that they could finally have their treasure back. Their precious.

Gollette wrestled with that stupid hobbit Nemo and got knocked down a little way on the mountain. Nemo seemed to stop caring about their fight in that moment and ran off to catch up with Finn. Stupid little hobbit. Gollette scurried back up the mountainside. 

“Must hurry precious, must hurry and kill them both!” Tink lectured Gollette as they made it back up to where they had been before. “Shut it. We survived because of me. We’ll kill them because of me. You haven’t killed anyone in decades,” Gollette argued back as they scurried up to where the doorway was. 

“I can do it precious. I can. Must kill the little hobbit that’s too clever. Let me kill the clever hobbit,” Tink insisted with a hiss before she followed Nemo in through the doorway not long after.

FINN:

Finn stood at the edge, holding the ring over it and feeling the weight of it all, and the ring was shouting out to him. It was as if it was yelling to not do it. To take it away from the edge. To save it from destruction and take it for himself. It whispered. It told Finn of all the ways that it could fix his life. How it could make up for the pain and suffering. Finn shouldn’t toss the ring in. He should keep it. 

Finn didn’t want to keep it. 

Just as he was about to drop the ring, he felt a weight against him again. Once again Gollette had caught up, having knocked Nemo down to come get Finn. Finn wrestled with Gollette. Suddenly, at the edge of the volcano he found his strength again and he fought back. He couldn’t let Gollette have it. He couldn’t let everything they did be in vain.

Finn fought with Gollette, until they both toppled over the side. Finn let go of the ring then, letting Gollette hold onto it as he scrambled to get a grip of the cliff’s edge. Gollette in the meantime clutched onto the ring, a smile lighting her face even as she tumbled down and down until she and the ring hit the lava at once. 

The ring was gone and the weight was gone, and Finn was dangling off the side of a cliff. It would be so easy really. He could let go now too, fall into the lava along with it and be free of all burdens forever.

But then he heard a voice shout out. “Finny!” 

He looked up to see Nemo reach out his hand to him. For a moment he hesitated. He thought it might just be better to give in and let Nemo go back and tell everyone what happened. For one moment he thought selfishly. But then Nemo stretched even further, and Finn couldn’t do it to him. He couldn’t let Nemo down like that. 

It took a few tries, but finally Finn got a hold of Nemo’s hand and the other pulled him up back over the edge and onto solid ground as the volcano started erupting around them. Finn didn’t even have a minute to thank him. They took off running back out the doorway they had stumbled into.

TAD: 

The battle was raging, Tad was now fighting side by side with Mushu, the two of them just trying to keep afloat in the mix of all these monsters. And then they both heard it. A loud shriek, and suddenly the orcs seemed confused. They stopped attacking any of them and started running away. 

And as Tad turned toward the center of Mordor, he saw something he never thought he’d see. The big tower started to collapse on itself. Then the black gates and everything else that Lord Anthony had created tumbled to pieces bit by bit. 

Finn had done it. Finn had destroyed the ring. A smile spread across Tad’s face and he shook Mushu lightly by the shoulder. “Finn did it! He did it!!” Their whole plan had worked! Tad and Mushu cheered and threw their fists in the air even as the volcano erupted and the remnants of Anthony’s army withered.

FINN: 

Finn and Nemo had just managed to climb onto a larger rock surface that wasn’t covered in lava or the flow wasn’t going toward it. Then Finn collapsed on the rock with his best friend, a relieved smile spreading across his face. He’d done it. They’d done it. The ring was gone. It was over. The long terrible journey was finally over! 

Finn hadn’t let himself think about everything he missed from home. Not until now. Not until he knew that their home was saved. The Shire was really saved. He let himself breathe, settling in on the rock there. “You know Nemo, I can finally see the Shire again. The b-b-beautiful river and the trees. The parties we used to go to. Roxas’ fireworks… and… and that time we kissed underneath the party tree.” 

He smiled up at Nemo, feeling more like himself in that moment than he had in all the months since his uncle had left him the ring. He could think about all the peaceful and good moments because the shadow was gone. The shadow was gone and Finn was free. 

“I thought I lost you Finny. First to the ring and then… then on that cliff…” Nemo started to choke up and Finn forced himself to use what little strength was left in him to sit up again. “I’m here Nemo. I’m here be-be-because of you,” he added, reaching for Nemo’s hand and squeezing it the way Nemo had done for their whole journey. For the whole time that the ring had been a burden to him. 

“I can be-be-be me again because of your support,” Finn added, tears flooding his own vision now too. “I’m so grateful to you.” He pressed a tender kiss to Nemo’s forehead, and then he cradled his face in his hands for a moment before he leaned in to press a soft kiss to his lips. Even in all of this, surrounded by lava, Finn had the one person by his side that could keep him going. He could never do enough to make up for all the good that Nemo had done for him.

SHANG:

It all seemed to come together fast. And now, Shang was crowned King of Gondor with the help of the wizard Roxas. The audience clapped and Shang could barely process that this was where they were. That they were truly in the times of peace, and his days from now on would be a much more peaceful time. 

He gave a speech to his people, though he hardly remembered it, stepping away to greet some of the people who had come to see him crowned. He smiled and nodded his head to the Lady Phoebe, arm in arm with Lord Arthur, new Steward of Gondor. They curtsied and bowed and he continued forward until a part of elves came to greet him.

Shang could only look at one particular elf though: Judy, no longer dressed in battle armor, but a beautiful flowing pink dress. The two stared at each other for a long minute. Judy reached up to cradle his face in her hands. Shang traced over the wound she seemed to have gotten on her cheek during the final battle with his hand. And then Shang and Judy leaned into each other, melting into a passionate kiss, arms wrapping around each other. 

Once the two of them could grasp the relief they had at seeing each other again, they were able to pull back, Judy taking his arm and squeezing it before they both continued further down to find themselves face to face with four hobbits: Mushu, Nemo, Finn, and Tad. All four started to bow, but Shang quickly stepped forward. 

“My friends… you bow to no one.” 

The four hobbits straightened up again as the whole city knelt to pay their respects to the four hobbits who had helped bring about this good change in Middle Earth. From there, Shang made arrangements to give them all the best supplies in the city to aid them on their way back home. 

From then on, Shang and Judy were able to live peaceful days rebuilding the kingdom and ensuring a good future for Gondor for many years to come.

FINN:

A whole year after they had all set out on their journeys Tad, Mushu, Nemo, and Finn found their way back to the Shire. Mushu split off first, heading off to find his brother and his family and tell them all about the craziness of the adventure, and likely telling them about how big Mushu’s role was in all of it. 

Finn, Nemo, and Tad waved him off as they rode their ponies further into the Shire. Then came the final split where Finn and Nemo embraced Tad before he returned home to where his own sister would be waiting. 

And from there it was just the two of them again. Just Finn and Nemo finding their way back to a familiar house. It was hard for Finn to believe, even after all of it that they would find their way here. But as he stepped back through the doors of Bag End, a wave of relief hit him in a way he never expected. 

This was it. He was finally home. And here Finn would remain, with Nemo at his side, to the end of his days.

Ninjas being thrown at ya lol (keep in mind these are just examples of male & female outfits not characters themselves)

aight for this continuing off my last post with Alloy's back story of her being leader of the Metal Clan; it caused some formies to want to be ninjas too but all they saw was the weaponry & clothing having some sort of tie in to be stealthy, while the Metal Clan is the most kind & honorable these other 3 groups are very petty!! So petty that they end up battling each other during their own raids to steal from the pirates when they dock near by a sea town/port!

They become trouble during Clarity's victory & only unite as one big ninja clan by force by the Blight clan. None of the other rival ninjas have a leader in fact if one of them even mentions the thought of taking the lead they would get beaten up. Lots of thieves posing as ninjas makes it even more chaotic when the Metal Clan notices how sloppy they leave their evidence behind. Some even go as far as to go raid the others hideouts lol

It's even more of a shocker later on when Oscuri stumbles into all these other ninjas! That being Metal Clan is the only one that know the old ways of ninjustu so when Oscuri meets them she thought this fighting style was long gone to formies since she noticed the Earth, Water, & Fire clan fight differently having no grace or honor in their combat. She was taught by Master Mushu & Raymond these old techniques so seeing the "faker" ninjas fumble so badly gives her second hand embarrassment especially when she has to help them during Operation Revenge. Their hideouts are all spread out but not that far away from the coasts on Luna, they still manage to steal stuff back & forth from the pirates.

So with that said heres a few details on these 3 groups of fake ninjas! Earth Clan: They use katanas only, weapons are altered where they don’t transform the user like Jester powers, rather instead they are modified to have unique abilities, (sorta like modules that shopalo sells you) striking their sword on the ground doesn’t mean your safe since they can make a rock pillar appear in front of you if your not careful! Or slice the ground to make small earthquake wave attack, if rocks go flying they will throw them at anyone that gets in their way. Attack during the sunset.

Fire Clan: Only use Nunchucks, swinging their nunchaku around they have the ability to summon fire & swing it towards their targets. If they hit anyone in close range then they will be set on fire much to their opponents dismay. Depending in the direction they are facing the can also summon a wall of fire as a means of retreating. Attack in the afternoon. Water Clan: Only use Spears, they will poke & jab at the enemy to keep them away. They can create small whirlpools then throwing their spears at a target if not paying attention then they will be kept in place it works as both a getaway for them but also a way to make sure their target doesn't run either. They will also stab the floor 3 times to send small waves so watch your footing! Attack at dawn.

hero and villain in a dangerous environment, villain is killed by danger in said environment: Lord of the Rings (Gollum falls into the lava in Sauron's lair after fighting Frodo for that One Ring on a cliff above the lava), Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Grimhilde and the dwarfs end up on a cliff with a storm coming, Grimhilde is killed by slipping off the rocks after a lightning strike, before she could attempt to roll a boulder over the dwarfs)

hero physically beats but doesn't kill villain, villain is killed by something else: Beauty and the Beast (Disney versions show Beast fighting Gaston and Gaston narrowly managing to shoot the cursed fucker then Gaston falling to his death), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (Ethan corners Hendricks in a BMW factory where Ethan chases Hendricks for the nuke case, but then Hendricks jumps to kill himself)

hero tries to kill villain, villain is killed not by hero's attempt but by something else: In Time (though not exactly the big bad, Leon is wounded in the arm by Sylvia shooting him, and is only killed by having forgotten to ask for his daily salary), The Revenant (Glass tries to kill Fitzgerald himself, then instead leaves him to get carried away downstream where the Arikara deal with him)

hero exploits environmental hazard to kill villain: The Terminator (T-800 from the first movie, Sarah and Kyle kill him via factory machinery), Mulan (Disney animation, Mulan kills Shan-Yu by way of Mushu rocketing him into a pile of fireworks),

hero kills villain, villain survives only to be killed (or at least killable) by something else: Jason X (Jason gets dismembered but then revived as a cyborg; the remaining party fight to escape him and what ultimately kills him is atmospheric entry burn-up, and this is the literal 10th Friday the 13th movie so make of that what you will), Tomie (you can basically kill her in most manners and she will still come back, sometimes even as part of you, so the only ways you can actually kill Tomie are to just leave her to grow old and die of natural causes, or if you're not that lucky to avoid her, there's always incineration or acid attack)

Tiers of "heroes don't kill people, but we still want the villain to die because something something justice" in ascending order of "well, technically":

Hero simply leaves; villain coincidentally killed shortly thereafter by something unrelated. Example: murdered by treacherous minions.

Villain accidentally kills self while attempting to harm hero. Example: shoots at hero, misses, struck by improbable ricochet.

Hero and villain's conflict leads to perilous locale from which only hero escapes. Example: fighting on train tracks, villain hit by train.

Villain defeated non-lethally; dies anyway due to unpredictable or outside factors. Example: villain disarmed, dies of magic curse.

Hero employs lethal force, but that isn't what kills villain. Example: villain evades hero's attack and falls off cliff.

Hero deliberately employs environmental hazard to kill villain. Example: hero throws villain into live electrical wires.

Hero apparently kills villain; later developments reveal villain survived and was killed by something else. Example: hero kicks villain off cliff; post-credits bonus scene shows them getting up and walking away, then getting eaten by a bear.

My character- Mordia the Morbid, an orc cleric of the war-god Gromgore, thinks she's a prophet of his work. She is modeled after a Gospel Church Woman (HALLELUJAH!)

Jade's character- MiMeow Swiftpaw, a panda-person monk, who wants to be the next top chef in Azaroc (the world). She is modeled after Kungfu Panda

But to have the queen, with all her many, many faults, avow her opposition to the Heartless and have her men ordered to fight them, is an excellent cap on the world's story, one I'm sorry to have missed all these years.

This brings to mind part of what made KH1 and KH2 so damn good: the consistency and cohesiveness in the universe. The Disney worlds and characters actually hold connections to the main KH-original plot, themes and concepts. In KH1 we get to see how every world responds to the appearance of the Heartless, with some of the characters even learning that their world isn't the only one and that this is a universe-scale threat. Traverse Town has working ties with Disney Castle and also holds some destroyed Disney world refugees, and Hollow Bastion is full of Disney villains and Disney princesses from across many different worlds. KH2 continues this with some of the Disney characters from Traverse Town migrating to Hollow Bastion which the entire digital world of Tron is tightly linked to, we see new worlds reacting to Heartless and now the Nobodies + Organization XIII, with more characters learning the wider scale of things such as Jack, Will and Elizabeth in Port Royal, and old worlds from KH1 still carry on with where we left them off - Hades still has command over Heartless and ties to Maleficent, Agrabah has concluded a lengthy time of rebuilding after the big Heartless invasion of it that Jafar led, Jack Skellington still remembers the Heartless and how they ended up not being so good for the holidays, and in Atlantica we even have King Triton reference his surprising knowledge of the Keyblade again. People like Mushu, Simba, Belle and the Beast are back in their own worlds but still remember how others exist through their time with Sora, Donald and Goofy in KH1, while Genie once again can be summoned in other worlds and now so can Peter Pan and Tinker Bell whom Sora befriended in KH1.

It's part of what makes KH3 so disappointing. While half of the time we'll still get good stuff like with the summons, Disney characters operating businesses in Twilight Town, Hades' link to Maleficent and the Heartless still being addressed, the Unversed responding to the negative emotion of all the leftover scream cannisters in Monsters Inc., and just about everything in the Carribean, the other half feels like the KH-original concepts and characters are just there in the Disney worlds and with the Disney characters but not actually leaving an impact on them. Andy's toys being put inside some kind of illusionary world, Heartless and Nobodies swarming across Corona and Arendelle, and a guy talking about freaking time travel in front of Big Hero 6 all get swept under the rug like "well, that happened". Maleficent and Pete just wander around aimlessly in search of a mystery box, not doing anything even when they find it. And the whole core 7 vs. 13 Keyblade War plotline largely just kind of ignoring Donald and Goofy for large periods of time while only focusing on the OCs plus Keyblade wielder Mickey and former Keyblade wielder Yen Sid (although Donald and Goofy at least get to temporarily kill Terra-Xehanort and help Sora kill Master Xehanort). It just feels like a game universe crossing over with Disney, rather than Disney within a game universe.

Yet Another "Kingdom Hearts" Revisit, Part 1

Against my better judgement (because once I start any of these games, it becomes an inescapable time sink until I finish), I started up another playthrough of Kingdom Hearts. Initially, this was just because I had the itch to revisit certain boss battles and never thought to create multiple saves at different stages of the story for easy access before, but inevitably, a fresh look has led to pondering the story - and, in this case, the gameplay.

Which leads me to Wonderland. Am I the only one who likes this world? Based on some of the comments I've seen, this may well be another instance where my utter lack of experience with video games outside this series works in KH's favor, as the only real platforming experience I have to compare it to is the Spyro the Dragon trilogy. But Wonderland really doesn't seem that bad. Sora and his Mickey Mouse shoes might have a little trouble on the mushrooms, but he can still get around. The different configurations of the Bizarre Room are fun to find and navigate, the puzzles are basic but enjoyable, and there's a good amount in this world to encourage revisits.

And I only realized on this playthough that, on the first revisit after Hollow Bastion, I hadn't ever checked back in with the Queen of Hearts and her cards. Wonderland has always been a nice slice of variety in the first game, having a villain who wasn't part of Maleficent's cabal. But to have the queen, with all her many, many faults, avow her opposition to the Heartless and have her men ordered to fight them, is an excellent cap on the world's story, one I'm sorry to have missed all these years.

I do have aesthetic objections to Wonderland; it doesn't look that much like the film and the Lotus Forest borders on the ugly with its color choices. And as marvelous a beginning to the "save the Disney worlds" quest as Alice's trial makes, and as good a hook her disappearance is, I have grown increasingly disenchanted over the years with her being one of the Princesses of Heart - but that's for another post.
